Flood

Floods caused more property damage and fatalities than any other natural disaster in the United States in the twentieth century. The outlook for the next century does not look any better -- either inland or along the coasts. For example, downpours are expected to become more frequent and in many areas, winter precipitation is increasingly likely to fall as rain than as snow.

At the coasts, warmer ocean waters will bring stronger storms pummeling our coastlines. Combining that with rising sea levels means more potent storm surges.

Global warming enviromental

it is difficult to connect specific weather events to global warming, an increase in global temperatures may in turn cause broader changes, including glacial retreat, Arctic shrinkage, and worldwide sea level rise. Changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation may result in flooding and drought. There may also be changes in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. Other effects may include changes in agricultural yields, addition of new trade routes,[80] reduced summer streamflows, species extinctions, and increases in the range of disease vectors.

School flooded? not so bad xD

The ten "Commandments" of the Environment

1º Commandment (Saving energy):
-If you change the bulbs to high consumption for each lampdas Low-save around 68 kilograms of carbon per year.

2º Commandment (Change of transport):
-If you leave your car at home, and come to your place of work by bicycle or on foot from public transport dedióxido save 0.5 kilograms of carbon per 1.5 km that does not go by car.

3º Commandment (Recycle alive today and tomorrow):
- If you recycle at least half the materials used in your home can prevent the emission of 1,000 kg of carbon dioxide per year.

4º Commandment (Tires of his car):
-If your car tires are properly calibrated can improve fuel consumption by more than 3%. Each 4 liters of fuel saved withdraw 9 kg of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

5º Commandment (warm water)
-If heat is less water would have a lower energy consumption. Use less hot water by installing a shower of low pressure, avoids the emission of 160 kg of CO2 (carbon dioxide) per year. Wash your clothes in cold or warm water prevents the emission of 230 kg per year.

6º Commandment (Large packs)
-If you consume products with a smaller bottle can prevent the emission of 545 kg of carbon dioxide if you reduce waste by 10% this is the recycling remain at home.

7ºCommandment (thermostat)
- If you set the thermostat just two degrees down in winter and up two degrees in summer can prevent the emission of approximately 900 kg of carbon dioxide per year.

8ºCommandment (Tree Friend)
-If you want to have a friend flying these help our planet a single tree absorbs one tonne of carbon dioxide during the life span of an average person.

9ºCommandment (I)
- If you connect to more leaflets or campaigns on the environment, estars on alert is a good path for change.

10ºCommandment (Give the testimony)
- If you can pssar this palavara the word to your friends and family, they contribute to the welfare of our environment.

THE BLUE PLANET ARE YOU IN YOUR HANDS HELPS HIM.

Ice Melting

Polar ice reflects light from the sun. As this ice begins to melt, less sunlight gets reflected into space. It is instead absorbed into the oceans and land, raising the overall temperature, and fueling further melting. This results in a positive feedback loop called ice albedo feedback, which causes the loss of the sea ice to be self-compounding. The more it disappears, the more likely it is to continue to disappear.
